A BIRTHDAY IN OUR MITT

A BIRTHDAY IN OUR MITT

Longtime Massachusetts governor and presidential hopeful Mitt Romney born today March 12, 1947 comes by his quests for office honestly. His dad, George Romney, was longtime governor of Michigan, head of American Motors and also ran for president a few times in the late 60s and early 70s. Even Mitt’s mom ran for Senator in 1970. We ran into Mitt after setting up for our 100 person plus photo-ops and in walks Mr. Romney unescorted and no entourage a mere six months after his failed 2012 presidential bid. We were completely caught off guard by him walking in alone and his unassuming nice guy appearance, we honestly thought he was the banquet manager! Not only did he give a great speech but nailed the Q&A.

MLB is heating up this November

MLB is heating up this November

Major League Baseball’s General Managers stayed out of the cold this week in sunny Phoenix Arizona. They gathered at the beautiful historic Arizona Biltmore for their Annual GM group photo and to announce the Executive of the year – Dan Duquette of the Baltimore Orioles. This once quiet get together has evolved into a closely watched event as it marks opening season for players agents to wheel and deal. With an arctic chill hitting most of the country they could not have picked a better place to discuss today’s hottest players.

80 Years, and still the man!

80 Years, and still the man!

Austin, Texas – Leonard Norman Cohen, born today September 21, 1934, 80 years young, is a Canadian Juno Award-winning singer-songwriter, musician, poet, and novelist. His work often explores religion, isolation, sexuality, and personal relationships. I have been following Leonard from my early college days (“borrowing” his music for student slide shows) to photo assignments for the “New Times” magazine and recently enjoying concert tours in Las Vegas, Austin, Phoenix and LA.
